Why It’s Important

We are committed to reducing our environmental impact while making a positive contribution to the wellbeing of individuals and the community. Through our our online programmes and phone service, we seek to create a more sustainable future for both the environment and society. We are inspired by kaitiakitanga, the Māori principle of guardianship and sustainable care for the environment, and we apply this value to all aspects of our work, ensuring that we act as responsible stewards of the land, sea, sky and all living systems.

Co-design Approach

We embrace co-design as a key approach to our work. By collaborating with our participants and stakeholders, we offer the option to design services and programmes that truly reflect the needs, aspirations, and lived experiences of those we serve. We believe in the power of collective wisdom, and our co-design process ensures that our services are tailored, inclusive, and deeply rooted in community values. This collaborative approach enables us to create more meaningful, effective solutions that promote wellbeing and sustainability.

Responsibility

Our team is made up of qualified professionals, including accredited mindfulness facilitators and iwi environmental management awareness. Through these diverse skill sets, we integrate kaitiakitanga into our daily operations, ensuring that every decision we make considers the long-term wellbeing of both people and the environment.

Access

We provide easy access to our online programmes removing the need for participants to travel long distances. By using phone or video calls, we reduce our collective carbon footprint and promote accessibility for individuals in different geographical locations.

Remote Work

Our remote working practices further support sustainability, reducing the carbon output associated with commuting and enabling us to operate more efficiently.

Efficiency

We utilize cloud-hosted applications to deliver services, which decreases our reliance on physical devices, reduces IT waste, and cuts down on energy consumption. This is part of our ongoing commitment to operating in an environmentally sustainable manner.

Planting Initiatives

We support environmental sustainability by partnering with providers who offset the environmental impact of our marketing efforts. For every printed material we order, a tree is planted as part of a reforestation programme that supports biodiversity and wildlife.

Partners

We prioritise sustainable relationships with local businesses, organisations, and individuals. Our partnerships are rooted in mutual respect and shared values, and we work together to strengthen both our community and the environment.

Diversity

As advocates for diversity and inclusion, we take pride in our efforts to promote cultural diversity and have been recognised our contributions across New Zealand. We believe that our ability to offer diverse perspectives and experiences help create stronger, more sustainable communities.
