Sustainability

A living practice.

Our learning is guided by care, for self, others, and the world we’re part of.

That care extends to how we design, deliver, and share our online and in-app journeys.
We believe learning should nourish, not deplete, which is why our approach to sustainability is both environmental and emotional.

What We Mean by Sustainability

In the context of our self-kindness programmes, sustainability means:

  • Emotional sustainability — creating content that’s spacious, respectful of capacity, and never overwhelming

  • Environmental responsibility — We’re part of nature, we walk gently, keeping our footprint light, while delivering meaningful experiences.

  • Social sustainability (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion) — We actively create learning spaces where all people feel welcome, seen, and supported, and where differences in experience, culture, ability, and perspective are valued. (See also Boundaries of Safety 5. Respect all worldviews.) learn more

  • Values-led design — choosing slower, kinder ways to create and share what we offer

What This Looks Like in Practice

Here’s a light example of how we build sustainability into our learning journeys:

  • Digital-first delivery
Our programmes are primarily online to reduce materials, waste, and travel making participation more accessible and less resource-intensive.

  • Paper-light learning
Where possible, we avoid printing. When printed materials are offered, they are limited, intentional, and printed with care using recycled or FSC-certified paper.

  • No overproduction
We don’t create to fill space. Our programmes are intentionally paced, with minimal output and maximum meaning.

  • Low-impact platforms
We partner with providers who prioritise energy efficiency, ethical data handling, and inclusive access.

  • Slow content, not fast content
We focus on depth over volume. Our learning is spacious and reflective, so participants have time to integrate, not just consume.

A Living Practice (Tikanga)

Sustainability is not a fixed achievement, it’s an ongoing way of living and being.
We combine several practices that help us check in regularly:

Is this necessary? Is it kind? Is it aligned?

We're always learning, and always open to doing better.
If you're a learner or provider walking the same path, we’d love to connect.
