Mihi
Acknowledgement
Ka mihi atu hoki ki a Ngāti Ranginui, Ngāi Te Rangi, me Ngāti Pūkenga hei mana whenua o Tauranga Moana.
English:
We begin by acknowledging Ranginui (sky father) and Papatūānuku (earth mother), guardians of the natural world who care for all living things.
We acknowledge Ngāti Ranginui, Ngāi Te Rangi, and Ngāti Pūkenga as the mana whenua of Tauranga Moana, and elders past, present, and those yet to come.
With Gratitude
In gratitude for the one whose caring voice guided us, our original Kind Caller, and the one who introduced us to the depth and beauty of Te Ao Māori. The natural world is not something outside of us, but something we are already part of.
