Participation Guide

Before you begin your journey, please take a moment to read the following.

Kindness includes clarity, knowing where we begin, where we pause, and how we care for each other along the way. This guide sets out what we offer, what we don’t, and how we support a safe learning experience.

1. What We Offer

Kind Caller offers self-paced and gently guided in-app experiences in compassionate strength, self-kindness, and mindfulness. These journeys are designed to:
• Support reflection and everyday wellbeing
• Encourage calm, presence, and self-awareness
• Be welcoming and easy to engage with

2. Kind Guide

A Kind Guide (also called a Kind Caller) supports your learning and reflection through guided practices. They are non-clinical mindfulness facilitators here to help you explore self-kindness, mindfulness and compassionate strength at your own pace.

3. Self-guided Practice

Kind Caller encourages gentle engagement. You’re free to move at your own pace, pause at any time, and revisit content when it feels right. There is no expectation to complete everything.

4. Live Guided Practice

For the 20 minute live guided practice sessions with a Kind Guide:

  • You are under no pressure to share anything personal

  • All sharing is voluntary and should feel safe for you

  • If something arises that feels overwhelming or outside the scope of this practice, we may gently encourage you to seek appropriate support.

5. Cultural Safety

We recognise wellbeing as holistic.

Kind Caller is informed by Te Whare Tapa Whā and encourages you to draw on your own whānau, cultural, or community supports in ways that feel right for you.

We respect the diversity of voices and experiences within Te Ao Māori and across all cultures. Our intention is to create an inclusive space for growth, connection, and care.

6. What We Are Not

Kind Caller is not a health or mental health service under New Zealand law. We do not provide:

  • Counselling

  • Therapy

  • Clinical advice or diagnosis

  • Crisis support or intervention

We are not a replacement for medical care or therapeutic support.

If at any time you feel overwhelmed or unsure about your wellbeing, please reach out to professional support:
📞 1737 – Free 24/7 mental health support (NZ)
📞 111 – Emergency services
