Living Gently

Free Startup Guide

A step-by-step how to getting started

Last updated: 13/03/2025

1. Introduction

Kind Caller offers Compassionate Strength™ training through the Living Gently™ app. As accredited mindfulness facilitators, we’ve gained frontline experience serving others during challenging times. We now make this practice accessible not just for difficult or challenging moments, but for daily wellbeing by offering self-guided and guided training.

2. Purpose of This Guide

This guide will help you decide whether to take the first step: the 3 day free trial.

3. Why Compassionate Strength™?

Compassionate Strength™ is a personal growth journey that helps you build inner strength through regular kindness and mindfulness practice. It’s not about pushing harder; it’s about care, awareness, and choosing compassion and courage — the essence of living gently.

Living Gently™, the app, guides you through short daily practices, with optional Kind Guide support in the last two stages. As you progress through the Kind, Kinder, Kindest™ framework, you’ll train your inner muscles to respond with care, awareness, compassion and strength in everyday life.

Research and Culturally informed, Compassionate Strength™ builds on Neff’s self-kindness research, Zinn’s mindfulness, and Durie’s whole-person wellbeing framework (Te Whare Tapa Whā) empowering you to respond to everyday moments with care, clarity, courage, and compassion.

4. Who It’s For

Living Gently is designed for people who are:

  • Not currently in crisis

  • Open to self-reflection and self-paced learning

  • Interested in cultivating everyday wellbeing

  • 18 years or older

Note: Living Gently is a non-clinical wellbeing programme, not a mental health service. If you’re unsure whether it’s right for you, please check with a qualified health professional.

5. Free 3 Day Trial

A gentle introduction to Compassionate Strength™

During your 3 day trial, you’ll explore short videos and simple in-app journaling to help you notice, focus, and practice gentle self-kindness.

  • Observe: Videos are 1–3 minutes, designed for mindful attention.

  • Reflect: Optional in-app journaling prompts help you notice moments of awareness and kindness.

You can pause, replay, or skip any activity — there’s no “right” way to do it. This trial is about practicing noticing, focus, and self-kindness, and preparing you for the full Kind Care 12 week journey if you continue.
